I love a girl to laugh

I’ve been listening all my life.

Spent a lot more money

In a lot of fine places

That never satisfied me half as much

As that girl laughing

Over there behind the counter.

Can’t even see her face.

Can’t even hear what was said.

Just something made here agree in spirit,

Like she just took off running

Downhill

And couldn’t stop

Till she got to the bottom
