A Girl to Laugh

I love a girl to laugh
I've been listening all my life.
Spent a lot more money
In a lot of fine places
That never satisfied me half as much
As that girl laughing
Over there behind the counter.

Can't even see her face.
Can't even hear what was said.
Just something made her agree in spirit,
Like she just took off running
Downhill

And couldn't stop
Till she got to the bottom
Laughing.
Till she
Freed herself
Through the law of love and life
And laughing out loud
In a truck-stop,

With every hungry trucker
In the place
Filling himself with the sound
Of her laughter.
